Subject: Great Recording

This is the one for me. I have the Miller version but running this one off also. I think it captures every instrument clearly maybe a little hiss but it is a tape recording of long ago what else can we expect.
the Scarlet Fire of course is hot the space steals the show for me. Because every sound can be heard.

It's been my sincere pleasure to have had a small part in bringing these Bethke recordings to light.
I feel most will find this show an upgrade to the other 2 circulating sources.

Subject: This is a great show

I haven't listened top to bottom for quite awhile but remember excellent Birdsong and Sugaree in the first set. The 2nd set I'm more familiar with. Great great Scarlet-Fire, like many in 1983. Jerry in strong voice and the band jamming it well. But the real highlight is the 18 minute Space > Other One. Long build-up with amazing Garcia-Weir interaction, and when the song (with hearty Phil bomb intro) hits, it doesn't disappoint. This is one of the best versions of the 80's. Wheel > Good Lovin' keeps the energy high and even US Blues gets a spirited performance.
